Behind the result - No mystery in the method
A fixed planning table supplies priorities for the selected noise concern. Room use adds placement and activity prompts. Permission context adds a landlord or approval reminder, and scope chooses reversible trials or professional scoping. Optional length × width gives a simple rectangular floor area only when both dimensions are supplied; one dimension alone is rejected rather than guessed. Floor area is a context note, not a quantity of insulation or an acoustic treatment prescription. No noise-level score, product performance ranking or automatic construction design is calculated.
This tool does not measure real decibels, fetch live prices or guarantee a specific noise reduction. Blank optional fields are omitted. Text is displayed literally, not interpreted as HTML.

Before you go
Will this make the room completely silent?
No. The plan organises choices, not a guaranteed result. Airborne sound, impact vibration and room echo are different problems. Other paths and indoor sources may remain even after changes.
Do curtains, rugs and panels all soundproof a wall?
No. Soft furnishings and porous panels mainly address some reflections within a room; they are not a substitute for a designed separating assembly. A rug may soften some in-room contact sounds but does not certify isolation from another dwelling.
Can renters use the plan?
Yes. Start with reversible arrangements and obtain required permission before attachments, seal changes or alterations. Never block ventilation or escape routes, or change a fire door on the strength of this worksheet.
Does entering room size determine how many panels to buy?
No. The optional rectangle calculation provides context only. It does not estimate reverberation time, absorption area, safe mounting or product quantities. Those need a suitable assessment and manufacturer information.
